摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter describes procedures for analyzing fusion experiments. The results of studies among influenza and Sendai viruses liposomes, erythrocyte ghosts, suspension cells are presented. mass action model membrane views the overall reaction as sequence a second-order process liposome liposome, virus–liposome, or virus–cell adhesion aggregation, followed by first-order reaction. analysis final extent fluorescence intensity can yield percentage virions capable fusing with certain target membranes at given pH. kinetics enables gauge that viral glycoproteins goes beyond promotion contact between apposed membranes. extents virus (at pH 5) (above 7.5) nonendocytosing indicates all particles fuse if number per cell is not large.
