摘要: Cadmium accumulation and its effect on gene expression have been investigated at sublethal cadmium concentrations in the soil oligochaete Enchytraeus buchholzi. This worm is capable of accumulating to large amounts, which coincides with induction a mRNA isolated as cDNA clone by differential screening library constructed from cadmium-treated enchytraeids. The designated CRP1 1474 base pairs length contains 753-base pair open reading frame, encoding novel Cys-rich non-metallothionein protein. In vitro translation transcribed results protein molecular mass 25 kDa an pI approximately 7.5. These values are consistent those predicted deduced amino acid sequence. CRP 27% Cys, most them arranged Cys-X-Cys Cys-Cys segments. sequence also characterized 31-amino-acid motif, tandemly repeated along Northern blot analysis reveals that not constitutively expressed untreated worms, but rather it rapidly induced cadmium. may be promising candidate for monitoring bioavailable subtoxic levels terrestric environments.
