摘要: Magnolia vovidesii has been classified as a threatened species due to its very restricted range the tropical montane cloud forests (TMCFs) of eastern Mexico. This species, well many other inhabiting Mexican forest, is considered Miocene relict, known be limited three localities Veracruz, at risk because habitat fragmentation product grazing, logging, and avocado plantations, among others. In present research, we used dendroecological techniques evaluate effects climate variability on vessel traits growth M. in locality We determined regional climatic factors influencing resilience this species. found that mean radial during past 75 years was restrained study site. detected repeated narrow tree rings last decades (1945–2016) which correspond historical drought events. Climate-growth analyses carried out for period 1941–2016 point wood depends temperature events restrict growth. Our results suggest TMCF where codominant could depend significantly microclimatic conditions.
