摘要: Evidence has accumulated linking clinical tinnitus to the somatosensory system. Most patients can change psychoacoustic attributes of their with forceful head and neck contractions. The significance such somatic modulation was assessed by testing non-clinical subjects. Like patients, about 80% subjects who had ongoing at time (whether or not they been previously aware it) could modulate Almost 60% those no elicit a tinnitus-like auditory percept Because similar results were found in profoundly deaf, we conclude that somatosensory-auditory interactions within central nervous system account for most, if all, as well development percepts testing. Other observations implicate muscle spindle initiating neural activation ultimately modulates pathway, including dorsal cochlear nucleus. Somatic influences upon perception are limited but fundamental property
