摘要: Approximately 10% of colorectal carcinomas demonstrate microsatellite instability (MSI). Distinct from the majority cancers with chromosomal (CIN) which harbour allelic imbalance polyploidy and aneuploidy, MSI tumours retain intact numbers but contain repeats due to deficiency in mismatch repair are thought contribute early steps tumourigenesis cancer. While emerging clinical data has highlighted improved prognosis cancer potentially circumventing need for adjuvant chemotherapy, implications metastatic (mCRC) remain uncertain. In order assess significance mCRC, a broad literature review was carried out through online PubMed search on published articles encompassing pathological papers. This included studies identifying correlation status between primary sites metastases, chemotherapeutic assessing impact fluoropyrimidine-, irinotecan- oxaliplatin-based regimens mCRC MSI.
