Survey to assess public awareness of patient reporting of adverse drug reactions in Great Britain

摘要: Summary What is known and Objective:  Patient reporting to the Yellow Card Scheme (YCS) for adverse drug reactions (ADR) has been available in UK since 2005. By end of 2009, 18% ADRs reported were submitted by patients. Thus, some patients are aware scheme, but we do not know how much awareness exists general population hence true impact patient reporting. Methods:  We added eight questions a telephone omnibus survey adult UK, administered over two weekends January 2009. Results Discussion:  Results based on 2028 completed interviews. Of respondents, 8·5% (n = 172) had heard YCS, only three individuals self-reported scheme. People higher social grade those with further education significantly more likely be YCS. Those who preference online men, younger, middle full-time employment. suggesting tended women, working class lower level education, as did expressed postal reporting, addition they older retired. Each current methods was preferred respondents could continued. This supported reports that each currently used. What new Conclusion:  first YCS indicates low improved.
