摘要: SUMMARY: Successful isolation of azotobacter phages from soil samples was accomplished by using a modified Burk's nitrogen-free medium with sucrose as the carbon source. The natural flora in served enrichment strains and not further enriched addition laboratory cultures bacteria. Phage titres high 5.5 x 109 plaque-forming units/ml. were obtained when indicator strain for phage assays Azotobacter vinelandii O. On basis plaque morphology, nine isolates purified standard techniques. plaques formed consisted central clear area surrounded halo ranged 1 to 7 mm. diameter. Antiphage sera produced rabbits against previously isolated new isolates; on cross-neutralization experiments homologous heterologous antisera, 10 phases placed into four major serological groups. Groups I II contained each, groups III IV one each. degree relatedness among within investigated. A survey 48 showed that 11 out 12 A. 14 25 chroococcum formation or more phages. Strains agilis, macrocytogenes, insigne indicus lysed value present series classification genus discussed.
