摘要: The report by Wilson and colleagues in this issue of PNAS (1) is one several immunology that epitomizes the dictum “to understand physiology an immunocyte, learn how cell regulates its gene expression pattern.” study regulation, albeit not new, has shifted from focus on small numbers model genes under global control mechanisms to a more comprehensive understanding changes within cell. Despite technical challenges, exciting new insights into regulation have emerged these studies. Recent advances our knowledge complex genomes their expressivity, especially those mice humans, coupled with advent DNA microarray technology overcome many past limitations. Thus, analysis cells identical lineage derived different conditions, healthy or diseased, resting activated, progenitor/precursor differentiated/mature, et cetera, now possible. Reams data emerge at short notice, sense which lies mind beholder.
