摘要: Abstract Structures responsible for the onset, propagation, and cessation of generalized seizures are not known. Lesion microinfusion studies suggest that substantia nigra pars reticulata (SNR) seizure-controlling network could play a key role. However, expression neural activity within SNR its targets during discrete pre- postictal periods has been investigated. In rats, we used flurothyl to induce over controlled time period 2-deoxyglucose autoradiography mapping technique. Changes in were region-specific. The posterior was selectively active pre-clonic may represent an early gateway seizure propagation. anterior superior colliculus changed their progression tonic–clonic seizure, suggesting involvement coordinated regional results inhibitory effects on seizures. suppression state correlated with changes projection targets, specifically pedunculopontine tegmental nucleus colliculus.
