摘要: Tryptophan intake at breakfast has been known to be effective on promoting better mental health and morning-typed life through serotonin melatonin synthesis. For Japanese children, milk seems important resource for taking tryptophan at breakfast because of limited meal time in the morning. This study tries show the effects intake circadian typology mental health of Japanese infants aged 1 - 6 years. An integrated questionnaire was administrated 1100 years attending nursery schools or kindergarten June 2012. Seven hundred forty participants (67.3%, 360 females 380 males, mean age: 3.5 ± 1.4) answered questionnaire. The questionnaire included questions sleep habits, diurnal type scale by Torsvall ?kerstedt (1980), health (anger and depression), meals contents time. Infants who took breakfast showed 21.2 (±3.4, n = 537) scores average which tended higher (more morning-typed) than 20.7 (±3.5, 142) (p 0.085) shown by those did not take milk. carbohydrate (or protein resource) plus were significantly took only resource) p 0.098). Taking might promote serotonin synthesis morning which could improve directly and become “inner” zeitgeber clocks infants.
