摘要: Mucoadhesive materials adhere persistently to mucosal surfaces. A mucoadhesive delivery system could therefore facilitate the controlled release of drugs and optimize their bioavailability in tissues. Polysaccharides are most versatile class natural polymers for transmucosal drug delivery. We used microviscosimetry explore mucoadhesion a library polysaccharide families with diverse structural characteristics as first step toward rational design polysaccharide-based nanoformulations. Here we show that magnitude deviation between viscosity mixed polysaccharide–mucin solutions corresponding individual stock can indicate underlying molecular interactions. found nonlinear monotonic curves predicted correlation interaction ability coils contract presence salt (i.e., chain flexibility).
