Evidence-based treatment methods for the management of shoulder impingement syndrome among Dutch-speaking physiotherapists: an online, web-based survey

摘要: Abstract Objective The purpose of this study is to examine whether Dutch-speaking physiotherapists in Belgium report using evidence-based practice methods for the treatment patients with shoulder impingement syndrome (SIS). Methods An online questionnaire, consisting open-ended and multiple choice questions, was sent members representative Belgian society that likely treated pain. electronic survey Physiotherapists Society (AXXON) (n = 3877). Therapists were asked interventions they used SIS. Survey responses interpreted current literature supports various active treatments SIS, including supervised exercise, home exercise therapy combined manual therapy. Results A total 119 (3%) AXXON completed (68 men; mean age, 38 years). Sixty-one percent respondents therapists, 36% sports physiotherapists. Exercise most often reported therapeutic intervention (96.6%). Manual mobilization frequently SIS (94.1%), followed by postural training (85.7%) stretching (76.5%). remaining applied less than 54% responders.
