Prevention of the Neurotoxicity of the Amyloid β Protein by Genipin

摘要: Genipin, which was shown in our previous investigation to have prominent neuritogenic activity paraneurons such as PC12h cells, studied determine whether it could prevent the toxicity of Alzheimer’s amyloid β protein (Aβ) cultured hippocampal neurons. Increased release lactate dehydrogenase from neurons after 2 d Aβ25-35 administration prevented dose dependently by addition genipin 20—40 μM. Morphological observations and trypan blue staining cells confirmed protection Aβ genipin. Geniposide had less effect preventing toxicity.
