摘要: Gardenia fruit has been traditionally used as a folk medicine for centuries in Asian countries. Extraction with ethanol was to obtain an extract (GFE) that contains two known constituents, geniposide and genipin, which were subsequently evaluated anti-inflammatory activity. GFE, showed acute activities carrageenan-induced rat paw edema. In dose-dependent manner, GFE also inhibited vascular permeability induced by acetic acid. Both genipin production of exudate nitric oxide (NO) the air pouch edema model. However, possessed stronger activity than geniposide, demonstrated results edema, formation, measurement NO content exudates. caused inhibition acid-induced abdominal writhing mice. Collectively, rather is major component gardenia fruit.
