摘要: Abstract Relationships between watershed characteristics and mean wadi flood peaks in arid regions are investigated. Mean peak discharge was derived for 12 watersheds ranging from 64 to 1730 km2 Oman using 270 events 10 years of record. Fourteen were automatically extracted a digital elevation model, multiple regression used investigate the effect these on flow (Q MPF) 5-, 10-, 20-, 50- 100-year return period peaks. Drainage area (DA), slope (WS), (BE) agricultural/farm (FR) found be key variables affecting flows. As increased, influence BE flood-peak estimation decreased. In addition, urbanization is increasing alongside agricultural areas, inclusion FR relationship improved variance explanation by 11% over models only traditional such as DA BE.
