摘要: SUMMARY Induction of beige cells causes the browning white fat and improves energy metabolism. However, central mechanism that controls adipose tissue its physiological relevance are largely unknown. Here, we demonstrate fasting chemical-genetic activation orexigenic AgRP neurons in hypothalamus suppress fat. O-linked b-N-acetylglucosamine (OGlcNAc) modification cytoplasmic nuclear proteins regulates fundamental cellular processes. The levels O-GlcNAc transferase (OGT) OGlcNAc enriched elevated by fasting. Genetic ablation OGT inhibits neuronal excitability through voltage-dependent potassium channel, promotes browning, protects mice against diet-induced obesity insulin resistance. These data reveal as a highly dynamic process under control, which signaling is essential for suppressing thermogenesis to conserve response
