摘要: Two genes involved in iron utilization Campylobacter coli VC167 T1 have been characterized. The cfrA gene encodes a protein with predicted Mr of 77,653 which, after processing the leader sequence, has 75,635. This significant sequence identity to siderophore receptors several bacteria, and site-specific mutants defective do not synthesize one two major iron-repressible outer membrane proteins. An adjacent TonB-like protein; mutant this lost ability utilize hemin, ferrichrome, enterochelin as sources. tonB hybridized all strains C. most jejuni examined but did hybridize other jejuni, suggesting that thermophilic campylobacters can be separated into categories based on presence these genes.
