摘要: ABSTRACT A laser or an X-ray beam is used to heat a sphere that immersed in uniform external flow. Temperature distributions as well local and average convective transfer coefficients are calculated order evaluate the efficacy of cooling solid sphere. The present work extends previous studies by: (1) applying unique source imposed by irradiating with intense energy beam; (2) performing conjugate analysis fluid domain; (3) calculating internal surface temperature distribution. Absorption irradiation results nonuniform generation, having exponential spatial distribution source. limiting cases localized “laser” heating near-uniform generation throughout Key reported for two different sizes (small large) striking sphere, comparison solution isothermal wall boundary condition.
