摘要: Abstract University libraries are questioning the added value of open shelves with books. As scientific publications increasingly available in electronic format, which role do bookshelves have future library space? The Utrecht Library case study invites librarians to fundamentally rethink how they could strengthen function their library. Based on acquisition and user data, interviews publishers users, this article suggests that 2025 play an important providing access those preferred by users paper format. However, should no longer focus solely publications, but digital too, as most collections become hybrid. Moreover, also think ways enhance inspiring bookshelves. Then, within space future, a hybrid collection place study.
