摘要: Subjects' eye movements were monitored while they read 2-sentence passages of text. A target-word region was defined in the 2nd sentence each passage. During initial 35 ms a target fixation, an ambiguous word presented as prime. subsequently replaced prime during fixation. Priming measured by comparing fixation times on targets preceded semantically related versus unrelated primes. The type prior context (consistent vs. inconsistent), (biased balanced), and strength instantiated meaning (dominant subordinate) could all affect priming. effects only found when consistent with dominant sense biased results are discussed terms models ambiguity resolution: data seem most reordered access model.
