摘要: Abstract Words with a single spelling and pronunciation but at least two distinct meanings (homographs) were used to terminate sentences of moderate contextual constraint. Following each sentence, target was presented which either (1) related the contextually biased meaning homograph, (2) unbiased meaning, or (3) unrelated meaning. Across subjects, stimulus onset asynchrony (SOA) between homograph short (200 ms) long (700 ms). The naming latencies recorded in Experiment 1 revealed priming for both appropriate inappropriate targets SOA only SOA. event-related potentials elicited by these same stimuli 2 showed similar pattern At SOA, however, effect had later than that targets. We interpret data as indicating ambiguous words are not activated time. late is discussed tems backward priming.
