摘要: Human growth hormone (Li) was administered for one year to a pituitary dwarf between the ages of and years. The optimal dosage seemed be 2.5 mg. daily intramuscularly; less frequent injections, even same total amount hormone, were not as effective. An increase in height 11 cm. ( inches) occurred during year, compared previous yearly rate 3 while patient taking sodium l-thyroxine. fasting blood glucose level did change, though tolerance curve rose mild diabetic levels early metabolic studies receiving doses up 10 daily. Later, returned normal long-term administration smaller doses. During control period seven months after treatment, slowed markedly. Undue bony maturation occur or treatment. When therapy reinstituted, changes similar those noted initially again occurred. ou...
