摘要: Abstract The emergence of the “new sex therapies” in early 1970s has brought more people, from diverse cultural groups, to seek help for sexual problems. However, directive approach therapy seems deem-phasize differences by offering a set procedures and techniques that clearly are grounded Western values. Based on existing literature concerning values clinical observations, idea commonly practiced is useful everybody challenged. Four culturally determined factors discussed: 1) meaning sexuality; 2) definition normal relationship; 3) perception dysfunctions; 4) role therapist therapist-client relations. Finally, implications practice presented.
