摘要: The Xenopus homeobox gene Xhox3 shows a graded expression in the axial mesoderm, with highest concentration posterior end of frog gastrula and neurula embryos. To investigate function gene, synthetic mRNA was injected into different regions developing In particular, supplied excess to anterior cells, which normally have lowest levels RNA. results show that injection Xhox3, but not control, prospective embryos produces series defects. gastrulate fail form (head) structures. Our findings suggest is involved establishing anterior-posterior cell identities during pattern formation mesoderm early embryonic development.
