Back to basics: pregnancy and dialysis While the mean and median age of people on dialysis in the UK is in excess of 65 years, there remain some patients who are young enough to be of child-bearing age. This paper will discuss some of the issues that arise for dialysis nurses when a patient in their care either wishes to become, or is already, pregnant.
