摘要: This study investigates how visual details are encoded as a function of centrality content, emotional intensity (arousal), and valence (pleasant/unpleasant). The uses new measure content periphery based on structural rather than features mediated events. Seventy-two pictures were selected from the International Affective Picture System (IAPS) using arousal norms published with system. Recognition was used to track encoding. Results suggest that central recognized better peripheral increases. encoding compared detail is less prone cognitive overload. findings reveal remarkable hierarchy consistent motivational perspective cognition suggests experience intensifies organism gives up for negative sooner more rapidly positive detail.
