摘要: The paper presents an admission approach for IPTV service providers that is designed to minimize QoS violations whilst effectively utilizing available bandwidth. Central the empirical method of estimating effective bandwidth required satisfy targets admitted traffic flows. describes this and specifies two control algorithms based on use estimates. first algorithm employs a simple evaluation whether there sufficient ensure, with appropriate degree confidence, will not be violated if requested flow admitted. second utilizes information relating cost, duration request frequency specific content prioritize higher revenue flows within process. Results simulation study (employing real traces long-lived flows) indicate proposed ensure adequate, but overly generous, amount allocated accepted are met. Furthermore, they demonstrate potential advantage using in process maximize generated revenue.
