摘要: It is shown that diffuse-light (DL) scattering sensitive to the surface atomic roughening transition and melting transition, both of which occur on Pb(110) surface, have been independently characterized using high-resolution low-energy diffraction other techniques. From DL we also show long-range surface-step fluctuations are destroyed during process cooling after heated up above temperature, revealing irreversible nature transition.
