摘要: The analyses presented in this paper document the impact of a community mobilization effort Cameroon. Between 1997 and 1998, local non-governmental organization worked with associations, Njangi, one urban rural location to promote knowledge positive practices concerning family planning, sexually transmitted diseases, treatment common childhood diseases. Based on multi-tiered structure, project involved selecting training two prominent influential members each as “relais” or middlemen. then trained mobilizers from participating Njangis provide relevant information help mobilize their fellow favor attitudes promoted by project. was evaluated using baseline follow-up measurement pertinent indicators, service statistics. Results suggest that intervention had significant influence noticeable effects about HIV/AIDS STIs, use health services. In location, for programmatic extraneous factors, not effective. discusses lessons learnt offers suggestions replicating settings.
