摘要: Capillary isoelectric focusing (cIEF) for analysis of hemoglobin (Hb) variants has two major clinical applications: 1) diagnosis and management congenital hemoglobinopathies, 2) assessment glycemic control in subjects with diabetes. For Hb disorders, like sickle-cell disease or beta thalassemia, the specific identification precise quantification both normal abnormal structural is required. Assessment diabetes management, on other hand, requires separation a post-translational variant, A1c, that chemically modified (glycated) form adult A.
