Evaluation of patient's Health-Related Quality of Life using a modified and shortened version of the Living With Asthma Questionnaire (ms-LWAQ) and the medical outcomes study, Short-Form 36 (SF-36).

摘要: Objective: The specific objectives of this study were to: 1) the effect moderate-to-se- vere asthma on patient's Health-Related Quality Life (HRQoL) as measured by Medical Outcomes Study 36-item Short-Form Health Survey (SF-36) and 2) evaluate construct validity a modified shortened version Living With Asthma Questionnaire (ms-LWAQ) using SF-36 concomitant measure HRQoL. Methods: Cross- sectional, telephone or mail surveys asthmatic patients enrolled in two central Florida managed care organizations. Results: All subscales four ms-LWAQ demonstrated ade- quate reliability population (Cronbach c > 0.72). most affected were: general health perceptions, vitality physical role functioning. These three correlated with ms-LWAQ: consequences, seriousness, affect leisure. Six eight all associated emergency department hospital utilization.
