摘要: Abstract The response of two symbiotic associations, that between Anthopleura elegantissima and Symbiodinium californium , Cassiopeia xamachana S. microadriaticum to artificial ultraviolet (UV) radiation (280–400 nm) was studied by analysis the intact associations partners in isolation. After 8 wk exposure UV, concentrations mycosporine-like amino acids (MAAs) were high A. but there no significant difference these compounds anemones not exposed UV those UV. concentration MAAs higher aposymbiotic than neither detected culture, culture medium, nor algae freshly isolated from . These observations suggest are obtaining algae, probably an exogenous source. By contrast, releases three medium. Aposymbiotic scyphistomae C. produced even when whereas ephyrae adult jellyfish, assayed after removal contained same found Taken together, data synthesizes transports them host.
