摘要: The ability of the pathogenic Gram-positive bacterium Streptococcus pyogenes (group A streptococcus) to bind fibronectin and adhere respiratory epithelial cells is dependent on a surface protein called F. In this study, we have examined regulation expression F shown that it environmentally regulated in response alterations atmosphere. six recent clinical isolates was repressed during growth under reduced concentrations O2. Expression an anaerobic environment induced by both superoxide-generating redox-altering reagents. However, did not involve mry, gene controls several streptococcal proteins. Protein constitutively expressed one two laboratory-passaged strains analysed, complementation analysis using allele encodes (prtF) cloned from strain constitutive strain, phenotype be dominant trans. Regulation, as monitored fusion prtF promoterless chloramphenicol acetyltransferase gene, involved transcriptional control. Environmentally affected cells, which suggests regulate may important infection.
