Ialso believe it is worthwhile to reflect onwhere field Operations Management(OM) has come from, where we are today,and challenges that lie ahead us as adiscipline. We find ourselves a in aninteresting predicament: OM faced withsome most interesting research ques-tions global business, yet have theleast developed empirical knowledge baseof any academic business disciplines.This represents challenge, but also sig-nificant opportunity.
