摘要: Background Extrahepatic portal vein thrombosis is an important cause of non-cirrhotic hypertension. Aim To provide update on recent advances in the aetiology and management acute chronic non-malignant extrahepatic thrombosis. Method A PubMed search was performed to identify relevant literature using terms including 'portal thrombosis', 'variceal bleeding' biliopathy'. Results Myeloproliferative disease most common risk factor patients with Anticoagulation therapy for at least 3 months indicated However, due a prothrombotic disorder, permanent anticoagulation can be considered. The complication oesophagogastric variceal bleeding. Endoscopic treatment first-line In several biliopathy changes endoscopic retrograde cholangiography (ERCP) have been reported. Dependent persistence biliary obstruction, vary from ERCP hepaticojejunostomy. Conclusion Prothrombotic disorders are major causes non-cirrhotic, warranted these patients. prognosis good, not determined by hypertension complications but mainly underlying
