摘要: Worldwide, huge amounts of mineral oil containing metalworking fluids (MWF) are applied for industrial metal machining. Future challenges in the field lubricant usage to overcome consumption finite resources and solve problems like compatibility MWFs human health environment as well laborious deoiling costly disposal. In this context, ecological economic properties a novel glycerol/water-based MWF introduced. Investigations revealed that if proportion ≥35% biostatic trihydric alcohol glycerol was present MWF, addition biocides fluid protection unnecessary. Technical grade glycerol, renewable by-product from biodiesel market, proved sufficient purity application. Compared common MWFs, cleaning surfaces just by rinsing with water distinctly facilitated because solubility all components. A disposal at end service life or wash waters had not be considered microbiological degradability organic components diluted MWF. The glycerol-fluid is available energetic even material recovery which contributes cost reduction covers aspect sustainability. Concerning costs application production processes, nowadays appears competitive many based lubricants.
