摘要: In this study, changes in the chemical and physical properties of yellow poplar were investigated during torrefaction. The torrefaction temperature was an important factor for changing compositions biomass. particular, hemicelluloses significantly affected by temperature. torrefied biomass contained lower xylan higher glucan lignin concentrations than raw material. carbon content increased from 44.80 to 52.96 % as severity (SF), whereas oxygen hydrogen contents decreased 45.08 36.77 5.89 5.62 %, respectively. high induced a decrease H/C O/C ratios. calorific value weight loss proportionally SF. Under severe conditions, 20.84 MJ/kg, which represents increase 15.01 compared Regarding biomass, moisture uptake capacity specific energy consumption grinding with increasing severity. (55.1–65.6 kWh/t) required less material (145 size reduction.
