摘要: Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a clinically approved method of tumor treatment. Its unique mechanism action results from minimal invasiveness and high selectivity towards transformed cells. However, visible light used to excite most photosensitizers has rather limited ability penetrate tissues resulting in insufficient destruction deeply seated malignant Therefore, novel strategies for further potentiation the anticancer effectiveness PDT have been developed. These include combined treatments with surgery, chemo- radiotherapy, targeting cytoprotective mechanisms induced PDT-treated cells, as well attempts aimed at enhancement PDT-mediated antitumor immune response. Moreover, new sources are being Impressive progress nanotechnology understanding cell biology rise hopes improvements this elegant promising cancer
