摘要: Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has shown to be a promising technique treat various forms of malignant neoplasia. The photodynamic eradication the tumor cells is achieved by applying photosensitizer either locally or systemically and following local activation through irradiation mass with light specific wavelength after certain time incubation. Due preferential accumulation in cells, this procedure allows selective inactivation while sparing surrounding tissue greatest extent. These features requirements make PDT an attractive therapeutic option for treatment retinoblastoma, especially when surgical enucleation curative option. This extreme solution still use case tumours that are resistant conventional chemotherapy handled too late due poor access medical care less advanced country. In study we initially conducted in-vitro investigations new cationic water-soluble photo sensitizer tetrahydroporphyrin-tetratosylat (THPTS) regarding its effect on human Rb-1 Y79 retinoblastoma cells. We were able show, neither incubation THPTS without illumination, nor sole illumination showed considerable proliferation whereas combined led maximal cytotoxic Moreover phototoxicity was lower normal primary from retinal pigmented epithelium demonstrating higher phototoxic cancer than cell type. results at hand form encouraging foundation further in-vivo studies potential eyeball vision preserving as well potentially retinoblastoma.
