摘要: Summary Despite great progress, global targets for tuberculosis case detection and cure might not be reached by 2005. In particular, there is a serious case-detection gap between estimated annual incident cases those reported under the strategy control branded as DOTS. Delays in reaching result lack of effect on incidence disease, which particular concern regions where increasing—eg, sub-Saharan Africa former Soviet Union. Four key actions will speed up progress towards targets: 1) equipping national programmes to have stewardship role engaging all health providers implementing DOTS strategy; 2) establishing feasibility certification systems coverage; 3) promoting community action contribute patient care voice demand 4) increasing support implementation expanded scope counter HIV-1-fuelled tuberculosis.
