摘要: Abstract The tribological properties of nitrided layer and sulfurized-nitrided AISI 4135 steel were investigated under oil lubrication, the layers prepared by ion nitriding treatment a two-step method as plus sulfurizing duplex treatment, respectively. A ball-on-disc friction wear tester was adopted to evaluate performance. Scanning electron microscope (SEM), scanning Auger microprobe (SAM) X-ray photoelectron spectroscope (XPS) used identify morphologies chemical compositions treated worn surface. It presented that sample with thin FeS possessed much better behaviors than sample, including load carrying capacity, resistance, reduction duration time. mechanism supposed decomposed activated S atoms promoted new reaction film formation, which induced playing solid lubricant for longer
