摘要: Dengue has been present in the Americas for centuries, but current situation is dynamic, and worsening. The main vector, Aedes aegypti, infests most countries. Vector control efforts have largely inadequate. Population growth, especially urban, low latitude areas, resulted a greater risk contact with competent vector. An increasing number of cities reached size that can support ongoing circulation dengue viruses. mobility connectedness human populations through rapid international air travel permit regular introductions virus via viremic travellers. More geographic areas concurrent or sequential more than one serotype, severe complicated dengue. Serological studies document infections frequently go unrecognized. Other infections, some treatable specific antibiotics, are often misdiagnosed as fever, fever presumptively diagnosed when other cause illness. Rapid, reliable inexpensive diagnostic tests unavailable areas. Analyses illness death related to show burden from tropical subtropical America substantial underestimated. health economic impact similar generated much attention. Study border share geoclimatic conditions (for example, Mexico United States) help identify factors possible protective measures. Well-studied island epidemics (e.g. Cuba) valuable defining role duration relevant immunological memory, potential genotype addition serotype on clinical course disease.
