摘要: The paper shows the feasibility of a satellite-earth downlink in E-band (60–90 GHz) taking into account both expected channel attenuation and hardware characteristics. For low earth orbit (LEO) applications, link are studied as function elevation angle seen at ground station. Link budget calculations for realistic scenario indicating broadband multi-gbit/s communication between LEO satellites stations with available receive antenna sizes availabilities above 98% presented. Additionally, possible geostationary (GEO) 5 Gbit/s data rate is presented, including atmospheric losses.
