Areas concentrations endemic taxa are indicated. significant differences between Labiate floras Turkey, Iran Afghanistan throw doubt on designating all steppic part as Irano-Turanian; there strong Mediterranean floristic connection throughout Turkey little evidence Irano-Turanian influence. numerous taxonomically isolated genera species; some these have restricted distributions, few almost cosmopolitan.
