摘要: Aim Adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) of the breast is an uncommon well-differentiated tumour with good prognosis, and sometimes difficult to distinguish from in-situ invasive cribriform (ICC) which are relatively more common. Recently, we encountered a case ACC that proved be totally oestrogen receptor (ER) negative by immunohistochemistry. We investigated possibility this may consistent feature can help in differentiating ICC usually ER positive. Methods results The immunoperoxidase technique was used study expression other related proteins six cases two ICC. All were for progesterone (PgR) receptors whereas strongly positive showed variable degree PgR positivity. In addition, pS2 minimal prolactin (PrlR), while widespread strong staining PrlR. The percentages cells positively Ki67 p27 generally lower than Both types c-erbB-2 negative, but p53 weakly moderately positive. Conclusions The findings suggest would confirm diagnosis contrast always seen also raise issue presence specific class carcinomas not because poor differentiation, their derivation from, or differentiation along, cell lineage.
