摘要: To report the STRATUS optical coherence tomography (STRATUSOCT) findings in a patient with unilateral coloboma-like excavation of optic disc without pit but secondary retinoschisis, as well to discuss possible involved pathophysiologic mechanisms. Observational case report. STRATUSOCT 66-year-old woman retinoschisis encompassing macular region, along evidence mild epiretinal membrane superonasal were evaluated. STRATUSOCT showed signs connection between perineural space and inner retinal layers on temporal border, schisis-like changes extending from macula, cystoid degeneration two lamellar holes their nasal portion. The use third generation OCT afforded an enhanced visualization structures, revealing fluid at several distinct levels, deep superficial breaks apart schisis cavity. We are unaware such previous reports, could find no reference them computerized search using MEDLINE. In addition, our study supports common pathomechanism for development complications pits colobomas.
