摘要: Abstract The concentration of mercury in fish samples from the Atlantic coast Ghana was determined using a simple, rapid and accurate method. A mixture HNO3, HClO4 H2SO4 used for complete oxidation organic tissue. Mercury is detected by cold vapour atomic absorption spectrometry technique an automatic analyzer developed at National Institute Minamata Disease (NIMD). In total, 56 covering 13 species were analysed total mercury. edible muscle tissue these ranged 0.004 to 0.122 μg g−1 wet weight. All sampled had concentrations less than WHO limit 0.5 μg g−1 low do not constitute any significant exposure general population through consumption.
