摘要: This paper presents the power-performance trade off of three different cache compression algorithms. Cache improves performance, since compressed data increases effective capacity by reducing misses. The unused memory cells can be put into sleep mode to save static power. increased performance and saved power due must more than delay consumption added CODEC(COmpressor DECompressor) block respectively. Among studied algorithms, powerdelay characteristic Frequent Pattern compression(FPC) is found most suitable for compression.
