Violence victimisation, sexual risk and sexually transmitted infection symptoms among female sex workers in Thailand

摘要: Background/Objectives Commercial sex work is a primary context for heterosexual HIV/AIDS transmission. Violence victimisation considered to compromise women9s ability protect against HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STI); little research has investigated violence as it relates sexual risk STI among female workers (FSW). This study sought compare symptoms FSW based on recent exposure. Methods Data from 815 in Thailand were used assess the prevalence of physical or within work, associations with symptoms. Results Approximately one seven (14.6%) had experienced week before survey. Compared their unexposed counterparts, exposed demonstrated greater condom failure (19.6% vs 12.3%, ARR 1.92, 95% CI 1.24 2.95) client refusal (85.7% 69.0%, 1.24, 1.14 1.35).
