摘要: Abstract Background & Aims: The spectrum of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease ranges from alone to steatohepatitis. Most previous studies have short follow-up and not carefully delineated different histological types when determining clinical outcomes. aim this study was compare characteristics outcomes patients with liver. Methods: All biopsy specimens 1979 1987 fat accumulation were assessed for inflammation, ballooning degeneration, Mallory hyaline, fibrosis. Biopsy also iron hepatitis C RNA. Outcomes cirrhosis, mortality, liver-related mortality. Results: Of 772 specimens, complete data available in 132 patients. Fatty (type 1) did differ the other three combined respect gender, race, age, or obesity. Cirrhosis more common (22%) than (4%; P ≤ 0.001). Overall iron, between groups. deaths type 4. Conclusions: outcome cirrhosis death is uniform across These poor are frequent whom biopsies show degeneration hyaline GASTROENTEROLOGY 1999;116:1413-1419
